Check this out! Did you ever think the baby would ever get this far down the line?
Baby Toman's Ticker – we're almost there!
Cute Maya stories:
–Monday, we were all sitting down to dinner. My mom (“Mimi”) was visiting that day, too. Maya opened an empty napkin and began to make some mysterious hand movements. She then [...]

I can't believe I'm THIS pregnant! What a blessing–and a test of patience. Now that the baby is considered full-term, I'm having a hard time being calm and cool about her arrival. I'm sure it's good for me, and the baby, to keep waiting. But we so very much want to meet her! Whenever we [...]

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don't search around and look for the “coolest” book you can find. Do what's actually next to you.

My Braxton-Hicks contractions have slowed down this past day or so. I still get them throughout the day, but they're not as close together, nor as intense. Bummer. I'm starting to wonder if this baby will make us wait for a few more weeks!
I praise God for answered prayer–we have so many people praying for [...]

The midwives came over today. Maya gets soooo excited when they come that she can't keep herself from talking the entire time. Today, as they were leaving, Linda commented, “Boy, she sure talks a lot!” It's really only like this when they come over. No one else makes her quite as excited, not even her [...]

So, the past few months, Maya seemed to favor Ellery over Annika. Whenever we asked her what we should call the baby (which we tried not to do often), she would reply “Ellie,” firmly and emphatically. However…
…she threw us for a loop yesterday. I thought I'd test her out again, so I said, “Should we [...]

I've been gaining weight like gangbusters these past few weeks. I'm up 20+ lbs from pre-pregnancy, which is a lot to swallow when you hate gaining weight. But I just try to tell myself to stick to the best foods, and if the weight comes on, then it's supposed to. Unfortunately, I'm a snacker. For [...]

I've been having an increasing amount of Braxton-Hicks contractions since Monday. Some hours, they'll come every 5-10 minutes. Then, they slow down again or disappear. Just late pregnancy/prelabor stuff, but so interesting. I never had the chance to experience any of this last time. (Let's see, during Maya's pregnancy at 36 weeks, 3 days, I [...]
An anxious big sister

We thought it prudent to show Maya some birth videos (we have plenty) before giving her the choice to watch her sister come into the world. Since she's not typically allowed to watch television, she was particularly intrigued by the idea of watching “baby T.V.” Last night, Jason was gone for fund development appointments out [...]

After my post last week about struggles with discipline and parenting, I had a horrible Friday afternoon with Maya. It was the 3 worst parenting hours I've ever experienced. It's since been followed up with several more times that I'm just tried to the max. Is Maya being difficult on her own, or is my [...]
