This company, which sells all natural wool mattresses and other wool and organic cotton bedding products, has all their mattresses on sale for 25% off, and other wool products on sale for 20% off. This is a fantastic deal, as these things can be very pricey. I’m hoping to save enough to get one of [...]

I am in love with Betz White’s blog. She’s got a whole list of tutorials for recycled wool, which is my fabric of choice for crafting this season. Check it out.
(She also has a book on the same topic that I have on hold at the library.)
My Dad: Update

The surgery went very well, praise God! Thank you for praying. He had a robotic surgery with five small incisions (rather than the traditional surgery with one large incision) and was able to go home the next day. There were no surprises and the surgeon said things went exactly as they should.
He’s now suffering from [...]
My Dad

My father was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. It was caught early, but is moderately aggressive. He has surgery tomorrow.
If you pray, please pray for him and our family around 11 a.m. Friday morning. Pray for the surgery to go well, for the cancer to be completely removed, and for me to be able to [...]

I know. Things are a little slow around this blog. But not in my life. See how the two are related? I heretofore pledge not to neglect Thee anymore, Oh Blog. At least not as much. That’s something, right?
So, animals. When we moved out here to our little ten acre homestead in late July, the [...]

Thrift Store #1 is run by [...]
Tooth Trauma. Kinda Gross. Don’t Say I Didn’t Warn You.

Maya slammed mouth-first into our bathroom stool last night. (Read more about it here, if you like.) One of her teeth was knocked halfway out, and the other was shoved back up into her gum (which is called an intruded tooth). Has anyone ever had or heard about an intruded primary (baby) tooth causing injury [...]
Spicy Red Pork and Bean Chili

I made this recipe for Maya & Asher’s joint birthday bash last Saturday. Well, sort of. I changed so much that I don’t think it’s the same recipe anymore. But it was certainly inspired by that one, so it deserved some linkage.
It was rockin’ awesome, and disappeared pretty quickly. I don’t normally cook pork, but [...]
