Knitters, crocheters, and other fiber artists – do you have a swift and/or ball winder? I’ve been using dining room chairs as a swift and my hand/thumb as a ball winder, but that gets old after a while. I was clicking around on Ravelry tonight, and I found a link to this little piece of ingenuity:
Brilliant. Simple, cheap, stores easily. I’ve got everything I need to put one together, so I’ll let you know how it works.
What I really need, though, is a ball winder. I usually make center pull balls on my thumb, and it’s fine, but I think getting a hand-crank winder would really speed up the process.
