Turtle Tree Seed is one of my top three favorite seed companies.
I got my first 2011 gardening catalog this week! (It was Stokes.) So exciting. I am very excited at taking another stab at the big homestead garden we work hard to produce. Our first two years have been fun and educational, but also difficult. (Pregnant the first year, infant the second year. I’m pretty sure neither of those things will be a factor in 2011, so the garden has a fighting chance!) Cal will be a toddler, of course, so that’s still a limitation. But I have to think optimistically.
We are hoping to move our garden one space to the south this coming year, to use fresh soil and rest the old garden space. We still have lots of work to do to break down the 2010 garden, and we’re really late. But you know, it will happen. Sometimes we have to creep along at kid speed here, but that’s okay.
So many plants I’d like to grow! I don’t think I can even begin to list them all. Our strawberry patch should bear this coming year, which is very exciting!
What about you? What are your garden dreams for next year?
I’ll be in the pregnant/infant gardening phase this year- due in May- but still hoping I can have some early spring successes and get some other things in the ground just before baby arrives… we’ll see. Baby due end of May, last frost is usually middle of May.
I am trying to keep things in check with my seed order, but seem to already have an awfully long list of things I’d love to plant!
So, what are your top 3 favorite seed catalogs?
I love Seed Savers Exchange, Fedco, Southern Exposure Seed Exchange, Baker Creek Heirlooms, Bountiful Gardens… oooh so hard to choose each year.
so basically — soon you are gonna be expecting another baby — huh??? :0)
I had a 2 and 4 year old this summer — almost 3 adn 5 (as they are currently) and still the garden suffered — you are so much better at it than i am …
