Asher (3)
- Lots of being read to
- Lots of free play
- Manipulatives (These are just the preschool manipulatives I bought this year; we have some others hanging around that I will make use of. But I was tired of Asher having less to do and getting into trouble, so I sucked it up and bought more school-only activities to keep around for he and Cal.):
Cal (18 mos.)
- Climbing things
- Getting into trouble
- Hitting people with books
- Climbing other things
- Playing with toilet water
- Tracking toilet water all over the house
- Generally being a handful
- Being cute and lovey so we forget about everything else
- (Seriously, this kid is SO MUCH WORK!)
Whew. Okay, if you have questions, feel free to leave a comment.
Cal’s plan sounds like the most fun to me. I can give you Sophia and maybe they could just keep each other occupied? HA!
So funny…I am having the same quandry with “All about Spelling” or “Spelling Power”…I am leaning more towards AAS, but the price of Spelling Workout is lower and it is recommended by a local (classical) homeschooling mom.
Spelling is a hard subject in our home, so I want it to be more fun for the boys.
I’m also introducing “Writing with Ease” this year for the first time. We attend a classical co-op (Classical Conversations), and Rowan will be doing an IEW (Institute for Excellence in Writing) class next year and I want to prepare him well. Love your lists!
I mean the price of Spelling Power is better (I have so many spelling curricula running through my head! I can’t keep them straight any more!!!)
I love that picture, all my kids have dark hair and eyes except the last one. He has blue eye and super curly blond hair.
I have found lots of fun free printable tot and preschool packs at Homeschool Creations for my 4 and 2 year old that work nicely with MFW Kindergarten which she will be doing this year.
If your kids do AWANA, she also has AWANA printable for memory verses and Raising Rockstar for Christ.
Is ETC the only phonics you use? any other ‘learn to read’ program?
We primarily use The Ordinary Parent’s Guide to Teaching Reading (Peace Hill Press), but Ellery completed that, so I’m just throwing in some ETC for fun and reinforcement.
