Good article over at Organic Valley about traveling fast food free. We’ve been doing a lot of road trips for house hunting purposes, and the most satisfying have been the trips where I planned ahead and brought food.
Growing up, we never ate fast food and we drove everywhere! We did so many car trips and my mom would always pack a cooler full of food and we’d stop at a park or rest stop and play while my Mom made sandwiches…you never appreciate those things until you’re older!!
I’m proud to say we do most of those things too! Not every trip, but usually the first day we leave home. If you travel multiple days it gets challenging to pack fresh food, though we sometimes buy food at local grocery stores. On really long trips we found that we all benefited from a stretch break/cheap ice cream at McDonald’s with playlands. Their sundaes are only a dollar :)

Oh, and I love dark chocolate. And coffee. And tea...
