They all fit in one little nest box!
Two Weeks Old (6/21/10):
Ranging around the yard.
Lots of fluffy behinds.
Mama giving me the evil eye. I came too close.
Still giving me the evil eye.
She’s clucking her Mama Cluck as she shows the chicks something good to eat. They always came running when they heard it.
One Month Old (7/3/10):
At this age, they loved to roost in the bottom branches of this cedar tree. See the two up there?
They also loved to nap in a pile at the bottom of the tree.
Five and a Half Weeks Old (7/13/11):
*Yawn.* Taking a nap in the front bed.
And they’re even bigger now! The two cockerels are already pestering each other and showing off for the pullets. Sigh. They just get rowdier and rowdier until we decide they’re big enough to be dinner. It’s fun to watch, though. They pretty much run in circles, and rarely hurt each other. Last year we had 13 cockerels sharing space with 13 pullets, and they got CRAZY!
